Lia Halloran

The long exposure photographs in the Dark Skate series humanize intimidating and gritty urban locations by inserting energy and movement of the body. Taken at various locations in Los Angeles, Miami and Detroit, the images are phographs, performance, and self-portrait drawings. Using light to illustrate the trajectory of my movements on a skateboard at night, relationships with the spaces around us are rediscovered.
