UPSTATE ART WEEKEND is a new initiative organized by STONELEAF RETREAT to celebrate creative spaces in the Hudson Valley, from August 29-30, 2020. This two-day, self-guided event incorporates more than twenty arts organizations situated between Garrison and Hudson, NY.

“If there’s anything these past few months have taught us, it is that community, collaboration, art and the outdoors are essential to our well-being and UPSTATE ART WEEKEND is a combination of all of these.” -Helen Toomer

There is much to discover from sculpture parks at Art Omi and Storm King Art Center, group exhibitions presented by D-DAY, Magazzino Italian Art, Parts & Labor, Starlite Motel, STONELEAF RETREAT, solo shows hosted by Alexander Gray Associates, Elijah Wheat Showroom, JDJ, Mother Gallery, River Valley Arts Collective/Al Held Foundation, SEPTEMBER, institutions to explore such as Dia Beacon, MANITOGA / The Russel Wright Design Center, OLANA, Poetry Barn, public artworks presented by Foreland, PS21, Strongroom, Window on Hudson and events hosted by Hasbrouck House and The Hudson Eye.

UPSTATE ART WEEKEND is a program of STONELEAF RETREAT, an artist residency and connective space focused on supporting women and families, founded by Helen Toomer and Eric Romano in 2017. STONELEAF will showcase an exhibition of Keisha Scarville’s Passports series, an audio piece by Sonia Louise Davis, commissioned by The Laundromat Project and outdoor installations by STONELEAF alumni Leah Dixon and Rebecca Reeve.
