The gallery is pleased to present Josh Reames at NADA x Foreland, a collaborative weekend exhibition taking place August 28–29, 2021 at Foreland—a new arts campus in upstate New York—featuring artwork installed in a historic industrial building in the center of Catskill, New York.
In partnership with Upstate Art Weekend and co-organized with NADA Member Jesse Greenberg of JAG Projects, the exhibition will highlight artworks from the community of NADA galleries, non-profits, and artists with a focus on artists and exhibition spaces working in the region of Upstate New York, featuring 81 exhibiting galleries, non-profits, and artist-run spaces presenting over 100 artists.
“NADA x Foreland presents a taste of the artists and galleries in the upstate artistic sprawl with a dialogue between Catskill and the international circuit. This is a celebration of a moment to recognize a strong extension of the international arts community; one informed from a long and rich history imbued with a new audience and new generation of producers,” said NADA x Foreland co-organizer Jesse Greenberg.
Highlights include presentations from Lydia Rubio (Art Into Acres, East Chatham), Sean Desiree (Baba Yaga, Hudson), Hudson-based artist Nicole Cherubini (September, Hudson), Schoharie County-based artist Hugo Montoya (Camp Eternal Hell Chamber, Mineral Springs). The exhibition will also feature presentations from international galleries including Proyectos Ultravioleta, Guatemala City; Will Aballe Art Projects (WAAP), Vancouver; Carbon12, Dubai; PEANA, Monterrey; KM 0.2, San Juan; and Stems, Brussels.
This is the first collaboration between NADA and Foreland, allowing participants to present works in a dynamic new setting and engage with the lively community of collectors, artists, and arts professionals based in the Hudson Valley during the bustling Upstate Art Weekend.
The exhibition will be free and open to the public Saturday, August 28 and August 29, 11am–8pm at 111 Water Street, Catskill, New York.
NADA x Foreland continues NADA’s engagement with the many audiences of the Upstate New York region, building on past events such as the NADA County Affair in Callicoon, NY (2010), NADA Hudson (2011, 2012), and our partnership with Upstate Art Weekend in 2020.
About Foreland
Foreland is an 85,000 square-foot contemporary arts campus located in Catskill, NY. In its earliest iteration in the mid-1800s, the three brick buildings of the Foreland Campus were used to manufacture uniforms for Union soldiers during the Civil War. Since then, it has housed makers and manufacturers of all kinds. It sat dormant for years, until artist Stef Halmos purchased the buildings in 2017 and began painstakingly renovating and retrofitting them.
Foreland will house 30 artists’ studios, three commercial art galleries, two special project and event spaces, and two food and beverage purveyors. The three buildings of the Foreland campus are triangularly situated, with a 150-foot waterfront and floating glass pedestrian bridge as a connection point between the heart of the Catskill Main Street and the waterfront. By providing sustainably-sized and priced exhibition and workspaces for artists in the unique setting, Foreland intends to be an arts destination and haven for artists and visitors making their way to the Hudson Valley.
About Upstate Art Weekend
Upstate Art Weekend promotes creative spaces in the Hudson Valley and provides a curated road map to explore art and culture across the region. This self-directed, accessible event, celebrates community, collaboration, art and the outdoors. Returning for its second year from August 27–29, 2021, Upstate Art Weekend is expanding to include special programming and partners.
Founded in 2020 by Helen Toomer of Stoneleaf Retreat to celebrate the cultural vibrancy of Upstate New York, Upstate Art Weekend connects people and places, building a community that not only visits for the weekend, but explores the Hudson Valley throughout the year.

Founded in 2002, the New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is a not-for-profit 501c(6) collective of professionals working with contemporary art. Its mission is to create an open flow of information, support, and collaboration within the arts field and to develop a stronger sense of community among its constituency.
