Luis De Jesus Los Angeles is very pleased to invite you to an artist talk with JUNE EDMONDS, CARLA JAY HARRIS, and KARLA DIAZ in conjunction with the artists' current solo exhibitions. The talk will be held on Saturday, October 23rd, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Q&A. This is an in-person event. Seating is limited and reservations are required.
Moderated by SHANA NYS DAMBROT, this talk will examine some of the conceptual, stylistic and thematic concerns these artists' explore and challenge in their works – such as a sense of place/belonging, a sense of memory/history, a sense of story/narrative, and a sense of color/tradition.
Shana Nys Dambrot is an art critic, curator, and author based in downtown L.A. She is the Arts Editor for the L.A. Weekly, and a regular contributor to Flaunt, Art & Cake, and Artillery magazines. Dambrot is co-chair of ArtTable's SoCal chapter, a member of the LA Press Club, and serves on the Board of Art Share-LA and the Advisory Council of Building Bridges Art Exchange.
