ABOUT

This is a recording of a conversation between artists June Edmonds, Carla Jay Harris and Karla Diaz moderated by art critic, curator, and author Shana Nys Dambrot. The talk examines some of the conceptual, stylistic and thematic concerns these artists' explore and challenge in their works – such as a sense of place/belonging, a sense of memory/history, a sense of story/narrative, and a sense of color/tradition.

Shana Nys Dambrot is an art critic, curator, and author based in downtown L.A. She is the Arts Editor for the L.A. Weekly, and a regular contributor to Flaunt, Art & Cake, and Artillery magazines. Dambrot is co-chair of ArtTable's SoCal chapter, a member of the LA Press Club, and serves on the Board of Art Share-LA and the Advisory Council of Building Bridges Art Exchange. She studied Art History at Vassar College.
