As part of a campaign to introduce the city to contemporary works, Artsy has created digital installations within subway systems where select artists' works have been on display. Especially after a year where many people were not able to connect with works of art in the real world, and many show existed exclusively online, Artsy played an instrumental role in showing works of art during a global pandemic. Peter Williams' piece He Was a Global Traveler was selected to be on display in the NYC subway system, a perfect piece for those who are commuting to and fro from both physical and psychological spaces.
